This old wood stove has been sitting up in the barn since we moved here. It's a Franklin, made in Georgia, and it is HEAVY! I don't know if any of the previous owners used it, or maybe someone got it at a garage sale, but it looks like it sat outside for some time. It had quite a bit of rust on it, but Robin thought it would be a great display item for the shop. Did I tell you before we like old things....and did I tell you it was HEAVY! Well with a little of her persuasion and a lot of elbow grease she got it cleaned up and WE got it into the shop. We are thinking of putting a small electric fireplace inside to add a little heat and ambiance for the upcoming Christmas in the country tour. Next to the stove you can see the other project we completed, which is the $5 desk we picked up at the estate sale. When we say red we mean red.
Robin's other project was to re-think the shop. She wanted to open it up more, so she eliminated the lattice wall that was blocking off her work area. She also moved everything around and succeeded in gaining a lot of space. This picture was taken yesterday, and already, this area looks different. Change is always a good thing.
