First Fire

There is something special about the first fire of the spring. It's still damp and cold enough to see your breath when you are starting it, and this one was done before the time change, so it got dark pretty quick. The kids had asked to roast some marshmallows and of course we could roast them on the grill, but I think that's lame. So up to the barn for some 150 year old kindling (lath) and a couple of pieces of Ash, and we had a nice little fire. How many times are the throw togethers some of the best memories. Almost every time I say.
