Pond Lily

I finally got a chance to get a picture of this blossom open. The pond keeps giving that's for sure.

The fish were up and about but I couldn't get them in the picture. They seem to grow every day also.

Garden pictures

Rain drops on Elephant Ear.

First blossoms on our squash plants. Things seem to be getting bigger by the day right now. Exciting.

Future stars?

After these guys were done and packed, my young stars took the stage.....

Girls being girls!

Lake George Summerfest wraps up

This is Robin's view from her booth at Lake George Summerfest, not bad huh? The band had just finished up and it was time to get packing.

The great thing about Lake George shows is you already have the people in the village. The bad thing is most are on vacation and not looking to purchase, as opposed to the other craft shows, where people are going there with a purchase in mind.

Our goal on breakdown day, is to go from this..............

....to this, in the least amount of time. We have a good system and the kids are getting bigger, so there is more help, and less bickering between them. That and they know there is food involved!

Summer

Made some changes to the blog today, I hope you like them, I don't think I am done just yet.Took this a couple of days ago. The school year has ended and the kids can now focus on summer fun. Robin is having better luck in the weather department for this weekends show up in Lake George. Summerfest at Shepard's Park is coming to a close today, the kids and I will be heading to the lake, as the break down crew. We swoop in and help pack everything up and then hopefully get an ice cream for our efforts. I will post some pictures, of the show and breakdown process, later. Going to enjoy this very nice day, hope you do too.

Grass is coming in

This is what we looked like in early spring. Just after I took the trees down.

This is what we look like now. Thank goodness for the rain and good grass growing weather we have had.

Lillies

The lillies are just starting to blossom. Robin has declared this year, "The year of the Dentura Lilly". They are not out yet, so these will have to do for now.

Berries are ripening

Black caps are ripening quickly, and this is my favorite part, right before you shove all of them in your mouth.

Our rasberries are coming along.

As are the blueberries on the hill.

New Pond pictures

The pond flowers and landscaping has filled in very nicely. I will try to get pics posted of the water lily open. The inhabitants also are filling in nicely.

Mr. Bigs or is this King? The kids usually name the frogs and they aren't around to tell me which guy this is, but he is definately the big boy in town tonight.

Here he is making some noise protecting his pad. I think I was getting too close for his comfort.

And here are our goldfish. They are still pretty small and very fast swimmers, so getting a picture is pretty hard. Please excuse the blurry shots.

They are starting to look for Robin when she feeds them, so hopefully as they get bigger and more accustomed to us being around, I will be able to get some good close-ups. We started out with 25 and we think we have 15 or so left. We are very much enjoying our pond and waterfall.

Bird Condos continued

The master in action (you know how much I like the action shots)!

The bird condos are painted and primped as promised, I believe we may have a bird for this piece, you will have to come to the show in Lake George, NY to find out for sure.

More summer color

Brought to you by Robin and her very green thumb.

My pup

If you have been following for a while you have met Eve. She loves to run and retrieve anything she happens to bring to you. Today she brought this........

Quite fitting if you know who Michael Vick is, he was the football quarterback involved in dog fighting, you go girl!

The sign of summer

These are the official flags of summer at our house. I achieved a personal record yesterday, I swam in the pool before August! The whole family was in for a late afternoon swim, it was great.

Bird Condos

New creation from the barn, ready for painting and primping.

Night Sky

I was out with the dogs last night and tried to get some pictures of the fireflies. My camera has limitations, I couldn't capture the fireflies, so I tried the sky and this is what I got.

Thank you to the people in my life that encouraged me to look up and around. So many people go through this life with their head down, missing out on all that is happening in the natural world. Keep your head up and your eyes peeled, you will be rewarded.

A Happy Father's Day indeed

Great day today with my wonderful family. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there, hope you were able to enjoy your families as well. Now it's time to get geared up for Robin's next show, Summerfest at Shepard's Park, in Lake George. Let's hope for some good weather and many shoppers! Busy day planned for tomorrow as I am well rested from MY DAY. My son wanted to know why there was a Mother's day and a Father's day and no Son day. I said he had a day every week......... Sunday :)

More from the first show

These dolls were a hit at the first show. I kind of cut this ones head off but it was to show where she was sitting.

They make great accents to Robin's creations.

Enjoying the view from street level.

A spurtle and a weedpot

New spurtle from the lathe. A spurtle is used to stir most anything but was originally used for stirring porage. This one is turned from Cherry and finished with a light coat of mineral oil.

Another weedpot from the Ash tree taken down a couple of months ago. I also turned a butter churn for my mother's corn husk doll. When we get the two together I will post pics.
